This tool is built for shippers, 3PLs, and carriers to quickly identify affected items and take proactive steps before the changes go live on July 19, 2025.

NMFTA Staff to Attend Upcoming NCWM Meeting in Reno
NMFTA's Jeff Cooper and Victor Mata will attend the upcoming National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM) Annual Meeting on behalf of the LTL transportation and logistics industry. They will voice opposition to proposal OTH-24.1, which introduces unnecessary regulatory changes that increase operational burdens without clear benefit. Cooper and Mata aim to ensure our members perspectives are heard and considered in the decision-making process. Their presence underscores NMFTA’s commitment to fair, practical standards. By engaging directly, they hope to ensure outcomes that respect the realities of modern freight transportation and protect all parties’ interests.

Here's What You Missed at the 2025 Spring W&R Meeting
The slogan is “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” but that’s not the case for the NMFTA’s Spring 2025 W&R Meeting. This year’s meeting was filled with important collaborations, informative presentations, and lively conversations. Attendees heard presentations on key NMFTA initiatives, such as the NMFC changes and ClassIT+, as well as other key stakeholders within the industry offering great insight into best practices and shared experiences. Some highlights include:
- The excitement about the new NMFC Item Lookup Tool and how it is helping many plan for the NMFC changes effective June 19, 2025.
- The ClassIT+ demo filled with incredible feedback and discussion, helping NMFTA plan for additional features and focus on customers’ needs.
- An engaging presentation by Joel Barton from the Cartel Gang Narcotics & Laundering Task Force Interdiction Team sharing insights on identifying contraband on the docks, detailing key indicators in packaging and raising awareness about how illicit materials are trafficked.
