Review Your LTL Classifications Immediately →
Misclassified shipments lead to unexpected charges, delays, and disputes. Make sure your classifications reflect the new NMFC updates on the Disposition Bulletin before July 19.
Audit Your BOLs and TMS Data →
Since classification structures are changing, your TMS, WMS, or ERP systems need to be updated to avoid incorrect freight bills.
Strengthen Communication with Carriers and 3PLs →
Your carriers rely on accurate freight classification data to bill correctly. Ensuring your classifications are correct reduces disputes, additional fees, and potential disruptions.
Train Your Shipping and Logistics Team →
Warehouse, logistics, and accounting teams should be aware of these changes to prevent costly mistakes. Ensure they understand the updated NMFC classification criteria and how it affects your shipments.
Important Note:
The July 19, 2025 update is only Phase 1 of a larger overhaul of classification changes planned throughout 2025.
