Transitioning to ClassIT+
NMFTA is proud to announce ClassIT+™, the only tool designed specifically for the NMFC changes in 2025-1 and beyond. NMFTA is committed to ensuring your transition process to the new ClassIT+ goes smoothly, so we’ve curated a list of frequently asked questions to help you find the information you need.
Will my current ClassIT subscription automatically convert to ClassIT+?
Yes, your current ClassIT subscription will be automatically transitioned to the new ClassIT+ web application when it is launched on July 15, 2025. Your current subscription will be honored until your current 2025/2026 expiration date, and your ClassIT+ expiration date will be aligned with your current contract’s expiration date. For example, if your current expiration date for ClassIT is 12/15/2025, then your ClassIT+ expiration date will be 12/15/2025.
In addition, your current subscription details will be automatically transferred into ClassIT+. After the user and license information is migrated into the ClassIT+ system, you will be required to set up your Okta account to complete the registration process. NMFTA will send out email communications regarding when you should expect to receive your Okta activation email and how to complete the registration. Your company admin will have access to your company and subscription settings prior to the launch of ClassIT+ so they can review and confirm your subscription details.
During this transition, please note that NMFTA will only honor the current license count associated with your current ClassIT subscription. ClassIT+ is a fixed license subscription, meaning that each license is affiliated with a single user. If you are currently sharing licenses between multiple users, then you must purchase additional licenses for those additional users. Additional licenses will be available for purchase starting July 15, 2025.
Will my current ClassIT settings be transferred to ClassIT+?
Yes, where applicable, your current subscription and company settings will be transferred over to ClassIT+. Note that some ClassIT settings will no longer be applicable in ClassIT+. In addition, if your current subscription has a Company Admin assigned, then we will automatically transfer this assignment to ClassIT+. Your Company Admin will have access to your company and subscription settings prior to the launch of ClassIT+ so they can review and confirm your company and subscription settings. As we approach the release of ClassIT+, additional guidance will be communicated with you regarding your subscription and company settings.
Will my current ClassIT API subscription automatically convert to the new ClassIT+ API?
You will have the option of transitioning to the new ClassIT+ API prior to its release on July 15, 2025. Our ClassIT+ API documentation will be available on February 25, 2025, so you can prepare for implementation. In addition, access to our Sandbox for testing will be available upon request. In addition, we will have a complete transition process for our existing ClassIT API subscribers so you can specify your intent to migrate over to the new ClassIT+ API and agree to our new license agreement. Once you have agreed to the new license agreement, your current subscription data can be automatically migrated into the new ClassIT+ API and you will have full access to our Sandbox for preparation.
What are the differences between the current ClassIT API and the new ClassIT+ API?
The new ClassIT+ API architecture is a RESTful API, whereas the current ClassIT API is SOAP. In addition, new transaction thresholds will be in place. ClassIT+ API transaction guidelines will be defined in our license agreements, which will be available for review on February 12, 2025.
How can we prepare to transition to the new ClassIT+ API?
If you are a current ClassIT API subscriber and you have agreed to our new license agreement so your subscription data could be migrated into ClassIT+, then you will have access to the following so you can prepare for the new ClassIT+ API:
- February 25, 2025: The ClassIT+ Sandbox will be available for testing your connection along with documentation related to the new API.
- May 13, 2025: You will be able to fully test the ClassIT+ API and its features in the Sandbox.
- July 1, 2025: We will open access to the new ClassIT+ API for current subscribers so you can prepare for the release on July 15, 2025, and the NMFC data effective date on July 19, 2025.
Will NMFTA still offer the NMFC DDS product in 2025?
No, we will no longer be offering the NMFC Data Distribution Services (DDS) product. We strongly encourage you to migrate to the new ClassIT+ API. Please contact Customer Service if you have any questions or concerns.
Why am I being encouraged to migrate to ClassIT+?
SMC3 is sunsetting their FastClass and SMC3 NMFC data product with the release of ClassIT+ and 2025-1. If you are a current subscriber of these SMC3 products, you are encouraged to migrate to ClassIT+.
How will my transition from an SMC3 product to ClassIT+ be handled?
NMFTA will have a dedicated team to support your transition to ClassIT+. To transition your subscription, you must approve of the transition and sign an NMFTA license agreement. From there, NMFTA will automatically transfer your subscription to the applicable ClassIT+ product. Your user and licenses will be transferred, and we will match your expiration date to your 2025/2026 SMC3 product expiration date.
In addition, after the user and license information is migrated into the ClassIT+ system, you will be required to set up your Okta account to complete the registration process. NMFTA will send out email communications regarding when you should expect to receive your Okta activation email and how to complete the registration.
During this transition, please note that NMFTA will only honor the current license count associated with your current subscription. ClassIT+ is a fixed license subscription, meaning that each license is affiliated with a single user. Additional licenses will be available for purchase starting July 15, 2025.
What ClassIT+ product will replace the SMC3 NMFC data product?
If you are currently subscribed to the SMC3 NMFC data product, you are encouraged to transition to the new ClassIT+ API. See the Current ClassIT API Subscribers section for more information on transitioning to the new ClassIT+ API. Please contact Customer Service if you have any questions or concerns.
When will the new ClassIT+ product license agreements be available?
All ClassIT+ license agreements will be available for you to review on February 12, 2025.
Can I get early access to the new ClassIT+ API even if I’m not a current ClassIT API Subscriber?
Yes, on February 25, 2025, we will have our new ClassIT+ API documentation available to the public. If you are interested in testing your connection against our Sandbox, then you can request credentials from Customer Service. Starting May 13, 2025, if you are interested in purchasing and implementing our new ClassIT+ API, then you will be able to gain access to fully test against our Sandbox after you agree to our new ClassIT+ API license agreement. Please contact Customer Service if you interested in purchasing our new ClassIT+ API prior to July 15, 2025.
